Description
Cimmaron is an heirloom Cos lettuce from the 1700s with tall, elongated bronze-red leaves. It is slow to bolt, so harvest stretches over a long period.
Sow 1/4 in deep. Sow outdoors in spring when soil is at least 50 F, sowing 1 in apart and thinning to 6-12 in. Sprouts in 4-10 days at 60-70 F. One packet plants a 25 ft single row. Cut whole heads at the base or snip outer leaves. Give fertile soil and even moisture.
