Motherwort is a Leonurus cardiaca perennial for zones 4-8, upright to 36 inches with small purple flowers in leaf whorls in mid to late summer. Sow 1/8 inch deep at 60-70ºF, indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost.
We set plants outside after frost 8-12 inches apart in average to fertile well-drained soil in part shade to full sun. Seed sprouts in 14-21 days; remove flowers if self-sowing is not wanted.
