Description
Northeaster is the pole bean variety here, with 50 open-pollinated organic seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris. It makes flattened 7-8 inch stringless pods that stay tender between pickings and matures fast enough for a second sowing.
Sow 1 inch deep. Sprouts in 4-10 days in 70-85°F soil. Plant outside after frost when soil is above 60°F, 3-4 inches apart for pole growth. Packet plants a 12-foot row. Pick before seeds bulge, every 2-3 days.
