Description
Oxheart is a distinctive Chantenay-type carrot with shoulders reaching about 5 inches across and roots 3–4 inches long. The squat shape brings full carrot flavor and makes this variety useful where soil is heavy; mature roots are also excellent for storage.
Sow 1/4 inch deep outdoors from three weeks before the last frost through midsummer. Thin seedlings to 1–3 inches apart and keep the soil evenly moist until germination. One packet plants a 10–12 foot row.
