Description
Red Cored Chantenay is a 1929 heirloom and an improvement on the original French type. Its short, broad roots grow about 5 1/2 inches long, with smooth orange skin, dense crunch and full-bodied sweetness.
Sow 1/4 inch deep outdoors from three weeks before the last frost through midsummer. Thin seedlings to 1–3 inches apart and keep the soil evenly moist until germination. One packet plants a 10–12 foot row.
