Description
Shogoin is a classic Japanese Brassica rapa grown for both roots and tops. Roots turn lovely and round to about 4 inches while plants reach 20 inches.
Sow 1/2 inch deep outdoors from early spring through late summer. Sow 1/2-1 inch apart, then thin to 3-6 inches soon after emergence. Sprouts in 5-7 days at 60-75ºF soil. One packet plants an 8 foot single row. Pick young for the most tender flavor.
