Description
Sea Kale is a rare perennial cabbage-like kale native to the coastal North Atlantic. Wavy blue-gray leaves add color, fragrant blossoms draw pollinators in early summer, and flowers, leaves and midribs can be eaten.
Remove the outer casing, then sow 1/2 in. deep. Start indoors 6-12 weeks before the last frost at 60-70°F, or direct sow around the last frost. Sprouts slowly and irregularly in 3-6 weeks. Space 30 in. apart.
