Description
Black Coat Runner Bean is one of the oldest runner beans still grown. Vines climb 6-7 feet with glowing crimson flowers, then fill pods with large lustrous black seeds.
Sow outdoors after the last frost in warm, well-drained soil with a trellis or poles. Pick young pods like green beans, shell full pods like limas, or dry on the vine for storage beans.
