Description
Butterbaby produces classic-shape mini butternuts, 4-6 inches long and 1-2 lbs, from compact vines. Sow 1/2-1 inch deep in fertile, well-drained soil with compost.
Sow outside after the last frost when soil is over 70ºF, a few seeds every 36-48 inches. Sprout comes in 7-10 days at 70-85ºF, and one packet plants a 12-15 foot row.
