Gold Seal Special Burley is the upright tobacco variety that grows to about 5 feet with heavy leaf production. Leaves cure to a golden hue.
Sow on the surface indoors quite early in spring like tomatoes and peppers, then transplant outside after frost with about two square feet per plant. Tiny seeds come in airtight bags with a 50-seed minimum, most packets holding well over a hundred.
