Description
Gourd Mix combines Lagenaria and Cucurbita gourds, with approximately 40% small and 60% large types plus additional varieties. The vigorous vines cover plenty of ground and may climb into trees. Mature gourds can be used for food, utensils, bowls, dippers, rattles, or decorative projects.
Sow 1 inch deep after the last frost when soil reaches at least 70°F, or start indoors 3–4 weeks early. Harvest Cucurbita gourds when their color deepens and skins harden, then cure them in a cool, dark, dry place. Lagenaria gourds need 3–6 months in a dry, well-ventilated area for curing.
