Description
Hyacinth Bean, Dolichos lablab, climbs to 10 feet with bi-colored lavender and white flower clusters held above the foliage. Mature pods turn purple and carry chocolate-brown seeds with a white lobe.
Sow 1 inch deep after the last frost in full sun and average to fertile, well-drained soil; soaking overnight aids germination. Keep soil at 70-75°F. Shoots emerge in 10-15 days. Give sturdy support and room to roam.
