Description
Suyo Long is an Oriental burpless slicer growing about 14 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, deeply grooved, with sweet flavor. Vines do best on a trellis, where most fruit hangs straight.
Sow 1/2-1 inch deep outdoors after frost when soil is over 70F, a few seeds every 36-48 inches. Indoors, start 3-4 weeks before last frost in individual peat pots, 2-3 seeds per pot, at 70-85F, then transplant 36-48 inches apart after frost. Sprouts in 4-10 days. Grow in fertile composted soil, water evenly, and pick every day.
