Description
Tendersweet is a pre-1936 heirloom preserved from the 1936 James Vick catalog. Its long, tapering roots finish with a blunt end and reddish-orange color, forming an even-looking bunch for the garden or market.
Sow outdoors 3 weeks before the last frost through midsummer, ¼ inch deep, and thin seedlings to 1–3 inches apart. Maintain steady soil moisture while the seeds germinate, usually within 6–14 days. Loose, stone-free soil helps the roots grow smoothly.
