Description
Texas Supersweet is a short-day onion variety with a mild, sweet flavor that works well raw or cooked. The plants arrive dormant and recover after planting in full sun and fertile soil; in northern areas, early spring planting produces smaller bulbs.
Plant in soil amended with compost, aged manure, or balanced fertilizer, and provide about 1 inch of water each week. Harvest when the necks soften and fall over, then dry the bulbs before trimming and storing them in mesh bags.
