Description
Dragon is a Danvers-type open-pollinated carrot with purple-red skin, a bright orange interior and a yellow core. The consistently shaped roots grow to about 7 inches and have a crunchy flavor that balances sweetness with an earthy character.
Sow outdoors 3 weeks before the last frost through midsummer, ¼ inch deep. Thin seedlings to 1–3 inches apart and keep soil moisture steady until germination, which takes 6–14 days. Loose soil free of rubble gives the roots room to develop.
