Description
Pepitas bears 9 to 12 lb light orange fruits with green stripes and edible flesh. Its seeds lack the tough outer husk, so they eat fresh or roasted.
Sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep after last frost when soil reaches at least 70ºF, sprouting in 7 to 10 days at 70 to 90ºF. Give 36 to 48 inches between hills in rows 48 to 60 inches apart in rich, well-watered ground.
