Scarlet Emperor is a pole runner bean grown for its rich-red edible flowers as well as its beans. The climbing vine works along a fence or trellis, where it can form a flowering screen.
Pick the pods young for a rich flavor, or leave them to mature for green-shelled or dried beans.
