Description
Casaba Golden Beauty is an heirloom melon originally from Turkey, grown in the United States since 1850. Its oval fruits average 7–8 pounds and have golden, wrinkled skin surrounding thick white flesh with a lightly sweet flavor and spicy scent. The melons hold on the vine, so they can be harvested when reasonably mature and stored until the blossom end softens.
Sow indoors three to four weeks before the last frost or outdoors once the soil is above 70°F. Plant in fertile soil amended with compost or well-rotted manure, and transplant after frost when seedlings are established.
