Description
Early Jalapeno is a Capsicum annuum Latin American heirloom hot pepper. Fruits run about 1 inch by 3 inches with thick walls, around 30 per plant, used green with excellent keeping qualities and turning red and sweeter at full maturity.
We pack 20 seeds per packet, enough for a 20-25 foot single row. Sow 1/4 inch deep and keep soil at 75-85 degrees for best results. Seeds sprout in 10-14 days; cooler soil slows sprouting. Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost and transplant 18-24 inches apart after last frost. Outdoor sowing is not recommended in northern areas. Cut fruits from the plant with a sharp tool, picking the first at usable size to speed the rest.
