Description
Chesnok Red is a hardneck purple-stripe garlic with beauty and flavor. Best roasted, it turns sweet without the bite of other garlic. Each bulb yields 7-10 cloves and stores 6 months when cured. Naturally grown.
Ships early to mid-October for fall planting. Separate cloves and plant 2-4 inches deep and 5-6 inches apart, pointed end up, 3-4 weeks before the ground freezes. Mulch 4 inches with straw or chopped leaves. Harvest when the lower 4-5 leaves dry, then cure 2-3 weeks in a warm airy spot out of direct light.
