Description
Black Bear is an F1 hybrid mini pumpkin that sets high yields of dark, almost black fruits weighing 1 to 1-1/2 lb. Plants resist powdery mildew and pair well with orange and white pumpkins.
Plant seeds 1/2-1 inch deep in 70-90ºF soil. Expect sprouts in 7-10 days. Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost and move out 36-48 inches apart in rows 48-60 inches apart after frost, or direct sow after frost in warm soil. One packet plants 12-15 feet.
