Description
Hello Yellow Milkweed produces flat-topped clusters of golden yellow flowers and grows as a long-lived perennial. Its nectar-rich blooms are especially attractive to monarch butterflies and make long-lasting cut flowers; sear cut stems with a flame to help them last.
Sow 1/8–1/4 inch deep in full sun and well-drained, average to gritty soil. Cold-treat the seed for 2–3 weeks before starting indoors, or direct sow in early spring or early fall. Plants bloom in the second year, though early indoor sowing may produce flowers in the first season.
