Description
Yellow strawberry is an everbearing Fragaria vesca with creamy-yellow berries, some nearly an inch long, that are sweeter than red varieties. The plants reach 8–10 inches and can form an attractive edible border from late June until frost.
Sow the seeds on the soil surface because light is needed for germination. For indoor growing, cold-treat them in moist soil or a paper towel in the refrigerator for 2–3 weeks, then transplant after the last frost when seedlings have at least three sets of leaves. Grow in well-drained soil and mulch with straw to reduce weeds.
