Patterson is a long-day hybrid onion that produces uniform 3–3½-inch bulbs with copper-coloured skins and firm flesh. It is the longest-storing onion offered in this line and replaces the Copra variety.
The dormant plants arrive dry and recover after planting. Set them in full sun and fertile soil, then harvest when the necks soften and fall over. Dry the bulbs before trimming and storing them in mesh bags above freezing.
